Haldo, name's Cobalt. I'm 18 years old and I'm an aspiring system administrator and homebrew game developer. I was introduced to Ubuntu by a friend and I learned about free licences and all their creamy goodness. I was using Windows before using GNU/Linux. I had a decent system running, but the core was still Windows XP. WinXP is pretty slow and buggy without any excuse (except for the esoteric error messages) or compensation for your troubles. My current gNewSense install is tenfold faster and more stable than my XP installation. I believe that Windows can be decent, but it would take a lot of work and would be illogical. Why have a non-free and decent operating system when you can have a free and powerful operating system? If you're still using proprietary software, I can assure you that you'll find a way without it. Trust me, you won't die. I began using gNewSense in early January of 2009 and I have no regrets.

I am currently working on gNewSense documentation for video cards. If you have anything that you'd like to contribute, just send me a mail at: shadowdoor {@} gmail.com
