I am a supporter of free software...
To find out more about free software take a look at Richard Stallman's book “Free Software Free Society”, as well as http://www.fsf.org/ and http://www.gnu.org, also read about the issues primarily at the philosophy pages of the GNU Project but also in the essays section of fsf.org.
You too can support free software by:
Signing a petition against Microsoft's Office OpenXML becoming an ISO standard.
- If you are in the US phone your senators' offices at 202-224-3121 to oppose the US-Peru “Free Trade” Treaty. It requires software patents and something like the DMCA. (Not to mention other harmful effects on other areas of life.)
Oppose the leading proprietary software establishment, support the Bad Vista campaign. Stop Windows Vista adoption and use free software instead, for example by installing a free GNU/Linux distribution such as gNewSense.
Support the Play Ogg campaign. Spread the word and let people know where they can download the necessary software so that non-patent encumbered multimedia formats can flourish.
Help high priority free software projects.
